
Former Jamalpur-1 Member of Parliament Nur Mohammad was arrested by Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police from the Gulshan area of the capital around 10pm on Saturday, police said.
Following the arrest, he was taken to the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police office on Minto Road.
Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, additional commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch, confirmed the matter to Ajker Patrika.
“He has a case against him at Bakshiganj Police Station in Jamalpur over allegations of attacking student-public processions, vandalism and arson during the July mass uprising,” Shafiqul Islam said.
“There was also another piece of information with us. He has also been arrested to verify that,” he added.
