
Newly Elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today received his first ceremonial salute and held his first official engagements at Bangabhaban office after taking charge.
A smart contingent of the horse-mounted team of Bangladesh Police welcomed the president on his arrival at the Bangabhaban at 11 am and escorted him to the Credential Field.
A smartly turned-out President Guard Regiment (PGR) contingent extended him a guard of honour as part of the welcoming ceremony. A combined military band comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force played a welcome tune.
After presenting the guard of honour, President’s Military Secretary Major General A S M Bahauddin, Public Division Secretary AJM Salahuddin Nagari, Press Secretary Sarwar Alam, PGR Commander Brigadier General Ghulam Ariqul Alam welcomed the President and his family members with floral bouquets at the Octagonal of Bangabhaban.
The president then proceeded to his office and signed official documents and visitors’ book.
