
One person died from dengue and 198 new patients were admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to a bulletin issued on Thursday by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.
The bulletin said the new cases included 49 in Barishal Division outside city corporation areas, 15 in Chattogram Division, 26 in Dhaka Division, 28 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 31 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 31 in Khulna Division, 13 in Mymensingh Division and five in Rajshahi Division.
A total of 148 dengue patients were discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours. So far this year, 5,067 patients have been released from hospitals.
According to DGHS data, Bangladesh recorded a total of 5,515 dengue cases this year up to June 25. Of those infected, 62.2 percent were male and 37.8 percent were female.
With the latest death in the last 24 hours, the dengue death toll this year has risen to 13. Of them, two died in January, two in February, one in May and eight in June.
