An attack has been alleged at one stage during a scuffle between leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and journalists after a protest program at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital. A journalist named Mahfuzur Rahman Shishir was injured in the incident. He was later admitted to the hospital. The incident took place at Dhanmondi 32 on Tuesday morning.

Eyewitnesses said that on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the banned Awami League,

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami held a protest march against the Awami League in the Dhanmondi zone of Dhaka Metropolitan City South. activists alleged that they had made comments to the journalists present, calling them 'friends of the Awami League'. They started an argument with the journalists over this. At one stage, when the situation became heated, some leaders and activists were accused of attacking the journalists. At that time, Mahfuzur Rahman Shishir, a multimedia correspondent of the daily Sakal, was injured.

Journalists at the scene claimed that Mahfuzur Rahman Shishir suffered injuries to his face and started bleeding in the attack. He was rescued by colleagues from the scene and admitted to Bangladesh Medical Hospital.
