India to Resume Tourist Visas for Bangladeshis from 28 June After Nearly Two Years

India has announced that it will resume issuing tourist visas to Bangladeshi citizens from 28 June, nearly two years after the service was suspended, in a move described as part of efforts to normalise bilateral relations with Dhaka.

The announcement was made on Thursday by India’s new High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Dinesh Trivedi, at a press conference held at the Indian Visa Centre in Jamuna Future Park in Dhaka.

Earlier on Thursday, Dinesh Trivedi formally began his tenure as Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka by presenting his credentials to President Mohammed Shahabuddin.

Dinesh Trivedi said the process of issuing tourist visas to Bangladeshis would restart from 28 June.
