News Body: Bangladesh Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon has ordered the installation of CCTV cameras in every examination room for the upcoming Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations to ensure the tests are conducted in a fair, orderly and cheating-free environment.
The minister issued the directive on Saturday while virtually addressing an exchange meeting with secretaries of examination centres under the Rajshahi Education Board. The meeting was held at the auditorium of the Rajshahi Prison Training Centre.
During the meeting, the minister gave centre secretaries a range of instructions to ensure the smooth conduct of the HSC examinations, which are scheduled to begin on July 2.
“CCTV cameras must be installed in every examination room to ensure transparency and discipline in the examinations. At the same time, all concerned must exercise maximum vigilance to maintain a cheating-free environment,” he said.
Among those present at the meeting were Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam and Rajshahi Education Board Chairman Professor Dr Shamim Ara Chowdhury. Secretaries from different examination centres also took part.
Professor Dr Shamim Ara Chowdhury said the examinations under the Rajshahi Education Board would be held at 208 centres across eight districts this year. A total of 140,830 students are set to sit the examinations.
Professor Dr Shamim Ara Chowdhury expressed hope that, with the cooperation of all concerned, the examinations could be completed smoothly and peacefully.
